A little clarity, a thoughtful next step

Frequently asked questions

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you ask for help.

Start with the questions below, or talk with our team about your family’s situation.

How do we choose the right home care services?

Start with the moments that feel hardest or most important at home, such as bathing, dressing, meals, companionship, errands, mobility, or keeping a familiar routine. During a consultation, we can listen to your goals, discuss the type and frequency of support that may fit, and identify where family members or other professionals may be involved. Needs can change, so the plan can be revisited as your household learns what works best.

What happens during a consultation?

A consultation is a chance to talk through the person’s routines, preferences, safety considerations, and the kind of support the family is seeking. We can explain our services, answer questions about caregiver matching and scheduling, and discuss next steps based on the information you share. You are welcome to include the person receiving care and other family decision-makers.

Can you help with dementia care?

Yes. Support may include companionship, cueing, personal care, meals, light housekeeping, mobility support, and consistent daily routines that help a person feel more comfortable and engaged. We focus on respectful, person-centered assistance and communication with the family; we do not provide skilled medical care, diagnosis, treatment, or clinical supervision.

Can you support a person with an intellectual or developmental disability?

We can discuss person-centered support for an individual with an intellectual or developmental disability, shaped around their communication style, preferences, daily routines, goals, and relationships. Support may include companionship, personal care, meals, household tasks, mobility assistance, and respite for family caregivers. Service eligibility and funding vary, so families should confirm available arrangements with the appropriate agency.

Which local communities do you serve?

Heartlink Home Care is focused on Granada Hills and communities across the San Fernando Valley. During an initial conversation, tell us where care is needed so we can discuss whether the location and requested schedule fit our current service area and availability. We do not publish a guaranteed service radius or set hours here.

Can long-term-care insurance help pay for services?

Some long-term-care policies may cover eligible home care, but coverage depends on the policy, the person’s circumstances, required documentation, and the insurer’s authorization process. We can discuss the records or forms your plan requests and help you understand what information to gather, but coverage is not guaranteed and families should confirm benefits directly with their insurer. We do not provide insurance or legal advice.
